Teaching

Ray taught for many decades in the studio, at the college, at the Mendocino Art Center, in Japan and Oklahoma. He taught mosaics, painting, drawing, sculpture.

A working artist was able to earn a living from teaching, commissions, and sales. It was never enough, but as it turned out, just enough.

Ray’s student, Yvonne Pepin’s playground structure, “Friends,” featured on front page of Mendocino Beacon, 1979. Click on article for Yvonne’s full recollection.
