Film acetates

These film acetates or “cels” are single drawings from the animated films Ray made in the 1960s and 70s. These 87 cels are all that are left of the hundreds and hundreds of drawings used to produce over 40 experimental art films. The films use this traditional hand-drawn technique, as well as time lapse and stop motion animation. Watch a sampling of the films and learn more about the films here.
